Activism and Advocacy
Basheer is deeply invested in grassroots social activism and advocacy in Nigeria. His non-profit work is centered on the Sustainable Development Goals (2, 4 & 11), and the early involvement of young people in leadership, politics, and social entrepreneurship. He believes in catalyzing innovation for the development of society.
Biography
Fondly known as BTA to friends and associates, Basheer Tosin Ashafa is a real estate developer and entrepreneur. For over a decade, Basheer has worked in, among other ventures, property development, marketing, and engineering/project management. Not defined by his real estate success, Basheer also runs sizable business operations in construction, logistics, capital markets, and technology startups.
Basheer holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Morgan State University and an MA in Entrepreneurial Management from the European Business School, London. He is a member of the American Marketing Association, Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute (CIRE), Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and the National Association of Realtors (NAR). He is also an alumnus of the Public Management, Strategy and Leadership Course at the prestigious King’s College, London.
